Who brought Stamford Bridge down?! Who broke Chelsea's 86 home games unbeaten record? Who's currently on top of the league?! Who's Xabi Alonso goal got them the win!?
".. take a chance, take a chance, take a take a chance chance.."
Took me longer to master this than MmmBop badubadabadubop.
So. I am quite tired actually. The marketing project is an energy zapper for those, who like me, don't come with an in-built dynamo thingymagica. Went to college on Thursday for a brief meeting to touch up on the designs, and then planned to get quotations for the manufacturing of the product (sorry la P&C at the moment) on Friday.
On Friday, I finally bothered driving to PJCAD on my own. I got my arse off the bed 15 minutes behind time but thankfully, there wasn't a jam on the federal highway of punctuality-hell. Attempted to copy the notes off the whiteboard but I didn't seem to be able to get beyond point number 10. Time to practise writing manually again!
Went for lunch at the kopitiam before Caroline, Sha and I picked up Patricia for our wondrous excursion at Jalan Pudu. Caroline is officially my favourite driver!! LOL. Anyway, we got our quotation from this idiotic shop which obviously made us feel like idiots because we did look like idiots when it comes to estimating costs and masses. First time la friends, sure kena. So we made total fools out of ourselves while the boss tried to con us with 50% logic and 50% garbage and THEN........
We left la duh.
Under the hot, hot sun and the stench of toxic-filled inks and sliced PVCs, we dropped in to the next shop, and the next, and the next shop after THAT next shop. The quotations that were provided made things so difficult Sha almost broke down a couple of times. We are talking about thrice the amount of the yet-to-be-available budget. I have no idea what I ate that caused me to be so positive the whole day. For every problem that arose, I was mentally bracing myself for disaster by coming up with another 3 alternatives (which usually doesn't work.) So I dutifully attempted to fan down her frustration.
And halfway through our excursion, when spirits were low and defeated (hyperbole a bit la).. it drizzled. Then it fucking rained. I had no hoodie with me!!! But we soldiered on and then decided end the trip before we get our brains into more mess.
Went through the jam with Sha's knowledge of KL roads (I only recall the bearings from Renaissance that your brother told you, Nami) and decided to stop at KLCC. Chilled at Dome, had a couple of skyjuices, tea and a cookie while Sha muddled herself further with more calculations and calls. -__-' Semangat yg teramat. To be honest, even I didn't know wtf were we doing at KLCC. Parking mahal giler and it was boring. Shoulda chosen a mamak buuuuut ada orang mood amat menakutkan so we sat down anyway. :P Takut kena bunuh.
Patricia then showed us some free movie tickets to Cineleisure and we decided to go for it. Buuuut, there was another friggin' jam outside so we had to make a pitstop at my home to pee. LOL.
Got to the mall and had dinner at Mr. Teppanyaki. We watched My Best Friend's Girl- which Sha claimed to be a freaking sad story from a novel. It wasn't. I had a feeling it wasn't. Dane Cook, Jason Biggs and Kate Hudson usually rhymes big floppy comedies... and it was. I didn't really enjoy most of the movie but certain scenes are quite hilarious. 5/10 lar. Very generous ady.
Dropped Carol, Sha and Patricia off before going home to TIDOOOOOO!!!
Tired la. Woke up at 8am with a freaking sore throat. It's now bordering on a mild fever too. Must be the fried garlic and the rain. Anyway, I picked Alisya up, borrowed her pink shoes cause I'd left my platforms at home and slippers weren't allowed in Professional Practise. We then struggled and argued over the misleading PJ parking machines. STUPID MACHINES. It states that parking is free on Saturdays but it had the guts to take my money anyway... which we then ejected. Mwahaha.
Professional Practise was a failure today but that gave me 2 hours' worth of nap before heading towards art class... which I'd only managed 1.5 hours in. I was too tired.. even the fact that I am finally painting one of the Hanson brothers couldn't motivate me to go beyond the outlines.
.. and then Man Utd drew with Everton.
... and then my maid returned.
.. and then I ran out of ideas to type and I'm going to sleep.
Been very busy with assignments- my portfolio, for instance. Motherfucking joker is really getting on my nerves. It was too heavy, too attention-grabbing and it was so not me. I realised that I made a wrong decision in attempting something that I thought was "cool", instead of what is "me". Soooooo, I modified the whole concept. Then there's the marketing project which seems to be much harder than I thought. Taking public consumerism into account made things a bit tougher but it's usually a hit-or-miss at the first attempt right?
2 important things I need to sort out a.s.a.p- my eyesight and my bodyclock. It's weird to be more enthusiastic at 3am onwards when people usually SLEEP and then zone out in the afternoon.
Footie-wise, another comeback over the weekend which made space for errors in the upcoming game against Chelsea. The freaking blues hasn't lost at home in YEARS so the odds are definitely stacked against us Torres-less team. Anyway...
Atletico Madrid 1-1 Liverpool
It wasn't the ideal result- but it was fair enough for an away game. I would be swearing my bottom off if we lost the lead in the first half, what with the play at full speed and all. But with 3 comebacks and an international week prior to the match, fatigue took over in the 2nd half and with Gerrard-Alonso-Keane off, a draw would suffice. They all worked very, very hard though. Credits to them all.. sans that silly Garcia flick-cum-miss a certain Irishman pulled on us.
Oh and the linesman is delusional. I actually felt sorry for Atletico till Simao wrote off Keane's goal.
I'm starting to settle into PJCAD- though I still think things get a bit absurd when I find myself rushing to meet competition deadlines when I thought we should be given time to explore and experiment with projects instead. It was frustrating but I've got a bit of chill time yesterday so things are back to its more peaceful ways.
Oh and I almost named our marketing group a bunch of simpletons. We were having a meeting at Syed's and I tell you what.. Shasha has energy levels 10 times higher than anyone else. It's baffling! O_o I was still sleeping away in London time.
Meanwhile, I have decided on a concept for my portfolio. 16th century crashes headfirst with Alice in Wonderland. It's gonna be soo sick! Hehe.
On the football front, Torres will be missing Wigan, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Portsmouth. It's the Liverpool luck. If we don't win the Wigan match, I WILL freak the crap out. :)
PS: I love Kat Dennings.
In an article in the Fashion Rocks magazine, feat. Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, Kat Dennings (who plays Nora in the film) makes an interesting music comparison. "In the film, whenever I talked about Where's Fluffy?-who are supposed to be the best band ever in the universe- the band I would substitute for them in my mind was Hanson, because I used to be obsessed with them. I still listen to them all the time - I'm not ashamed."
:o)
AND... I'm not done yet. I think I've softened my stance towards Robert Pattinson. Must be the new hairdo.
WTF is so interesting about watching the bunch of English players trying to gel together, only to mourn their failures hours later?! You might actually be doing them a favour by NOT watching you know?
If you think I'm freaking nuts about Hanson, you haven't met Lauren yet. There are so many ways to love a music and sometimes, give back. She does both very well.
You've got an imaginary company, the lecturer as a boss, your 2 mates as the assistants, you the financial director and etc, etc. You can't wear slippers, you can never say "I don't know", you don't take smoking breaks, you take toilet breaks instead... @_@
It's fun but I kept dozing off in the morning.. and I was almost 2 hours late for art class in the noon. Overslept lol :P
AND my Ulliel painting is starting to look better. I don't think Uncle Alex understands why I was so particular about the features. Tsk.
Three competitions on Day One. How competitive of them. Anyway, one down. Two more to go.
Spent 9pm-9am doing the damned project. Unfortunately, I'd used none of the work I produced at that frame of time. I scratched it all and did something else instead in less than an hour's time. I'll show you pics tomorrow. :)
My schedule states that I have classes on Mondays (2-6), Wednesdays (9-6 omg), Fridays (12-3) and friggin' Saturdays (9-12).
I will survive. Don't worry.
Classes officially start in about 8 hours time. Please let this final year go smoothly. I beggeth of you.
Anyway,
After sweeping the house in the noon- a task which I'm starting to find quite enjoyable, I went to meet up with JW at Hartamas. I didn't want to waste the day so I figured, why not go shopping? Unfortch, the boy already went to OU earlier so we settled for Ikano/The Curve. The self-proclaimed metro and I were singing and dancing to the ABBA tunes all the way to the mall. Gila syiok. Screaming lines off Mamma Mia out the windows, pointing at random drivers on the road and getting all emotional over "Winner Takes It All". Silly but fun.
Managed to get TWO tops and a denim skirt for less than 100 bucks. :D
It's 3 am. Just completed the first drawings of Tasha and Suki in cartoon version. My tummy is aching like crazy and to bear the pain, I've been holding this pose for a really long time. Something's definitely wrong with my digestive system.
Went to PJCAD with my dad to pay the fees this morn. Seven grand for the sem, people. Design is not as cheap as you think. Even graduation costs 300 bucks.
Dropped by Amcorp Mall's Victoria Music to look for the Mamma Mia soundtrack. They ran out of stock too so we went to (of all places) Digital Mall. WHO attempts to buy original cds from Digital Mall lol? Bought some silicone thingy for my iPod's earphones and killed time before picking up the rest of the sibs. Also dropped by Midvalley Megamall which I was 100% sure has a Speedy which stocks the damned soundtrack. They did! Yay!
Alamak sakit giler perut saya ni.
PS: I heard that SMKSH's En Salleh is currently battling cancer. Apparently he is in critical condition. Stay strong, cikgu!
Dance class today was extremely tiring for the legs. Note the bruises below. Haha.
Was going to go to Decanter for lunch with Ad and JW but it was closed. Tom Yum Spaghetti at Secret Recipe it was then! Then I decided to go get the Mamma Mia! soundtrack from Bangsar Village. Ad drove. WOOHOO! It's not that scary actually, I was exaggerating everything. You know it kan?
Checked out Speedy, MPH, Rock Corner but none of them had any left. Apparently the soundtrack was selling like hot cakes. Damn. So as a last resort we went to Hartamas Shopping Centre. Tower Records said they were all sold out! AAAAAAARGH.
Went home disappointed lol
BUUUUUUUUUT...
Man City 2-3 Liverpool
Losing 2-0 at half time and then banging in another 3 in the second half to secure a dramatic win was NOT what I expected from this match at all. It was an exciting match even though Skrtel was stretchered off. Poor thing. All in all, we are definitely heading towards the right direction. FINALLY! Mum was cursing Kuyt throughout the game but lo and behold, he scored!
Started the day REALLY well. Went for mamak at Hartamas with.. duh, Ad and JW again before picking up Azreel (whom they claimed that couldn't drive this morning but ended up regretting his decision to NOT drive) to catch Mamma Mia! at One Utama.
There are some movies which you can sum up with a word. Atonement for instance, was "beautiful".
As for Mamma Mia!, it was FUN!!!!!!!!!
If I get that much dose of a laughter every weekend I am sure I'll outlive Edward Cullen. (btw Ducky I'm done with the book) You can feel so much enthusiasm coming from the actors who were dancing and singing along to legendary ABBA songs throughout the movie. The comedy provided by Julie Walters and Colin Firth (what an ending for his character O_O) was pinpoint perfect! Just take a look at the picture below. You've got Mr. Darcy and Mrs Weasley strutting silly poses!
Guys, you don't have to be gay to love this movie alright? Just go catch it. You must be insane to not enjoy this movie. It's pure fun. Don't think too much. Dance along, sing along, laugh along :o) Heck, I'd even found Pierce Brosnan's bellowing singing tolerable just because I was soaking in the charm he brought into the film.
"first, meryl streep. then a wookie". - on the duet by Meryl and James Bond.
I'll give it a rating of 9/10
Rushed to SS2 for art class after the movie. My Ulliel painting is still not coming around. It's getting extremely frustrating.. but I'm sure I'll be able to fix it.... I guess.
Forget today. The whole week itself has been tiring. On Tuesday, my cousin brother brought me my present and decided to bring me out shopping in the noon. So there I was, waiting for him at Pavillion but that place bored the shit outta me and thankfully, Li Qing was there to save me. He actually brought along two other friends who were hairstylists and they were extremely friendly. Decided to change locations since Pavillion was not an ideal place for us peasants to spend our money at. Went to Sunway Pyramid instead and after hours of walking, I'd only managed to buy a pair of shoes and some earrings for my dearest Ducky. Didn't join them for karaoke later since I had to redeem my points from Machines, Midvalley before 9pm.
Now Wednesday was one peculiar day. I woke up at about 11 and swept the WHOLE house. Something just wasn't right with me. No one asked me to do it, I just happened to grab a broomstick and started cleaning the floors. Come afternoon, I went to Hartamas to wait for Ad, JW and Karim so they'd show me the way to Azreel's open house. The thing is, they told me it was in Damansara. At the mention of the word "damansara", I thought it would be somewhere at Damnsara Utama but NOOOO, it was at Damansara HEIGHTS. There was no need to drive to Hartamas in the first place then! A little waste of fuel but it's okie, at least I didn't have to struggle to find the house. Hehe. The food was awesome even though I accidentally ate something that tasted like liver. Spent almost 3 hours there chatting and gossiping with Geoff and Chew. Took a stroll down memory lane where we discovered some new things and refreshed some old ones. It was fun!! My obsession with cleanliness was still intact till about 3am as I cleaned everything from the radio to the bed in my room. I'd even made the effort of moving the boxes off the floor so I could sweep the floor thoroughly!!!
As for today, I got texts from Sim and Ad which FINALLY woke me up at about 1 pm or so? Got ready to go to Ducky's open house. Unfortch, my family was out with my gramps and couldn't come along but I managed to convince the chipmunk to accompany me. The chipmunk being my sister. Hehe. The food was.. wow. There was a wide variety of dishes and the fish curry was THE bomb man! Took a walk at the park w Qing, Az, JW and Ad after the meal. Got a big bad burn on my elbow after trying to stop a very bad landing when I came down the slide. Is there ANYTHING I can do without injuring myself somehow?!
Look! Purdy ducky!
Watched Eagle Eye at OU. Was outvoted by the dudes so I couldn't catch Mamma Mia! instead. "Eagle Eye" was an average movie. Good idea but there were too many holes to the plot. I didn't really enjoy it as we were seated at the sides of the theatre and I'd struggled to position myself diagonally for more comfort. Some of you may like the movie though, so give it a try if you wanna. :) Since the movie ended at 9.30pm and the kitchens were closing, we decided to grab dinner at SS2. Bugger even THAT place was closed so we ended up in Hartamas' Burger King LOL. And there, I saw someone who looks like Nando. You have to trust me on this since I drew that dude's face many time prior to the sighting. Haha. But whatever.
Pics from the day :)
Sis and the guys at the top of the slide. Group piccies. Jw and the doll.
It's a day for milestones, big numbers, freezing Brazillian goalkeepers and new accounts. :)
It was Rafa Benitez's 250th game in charge of the club. Dirk Kuyt scored the 100th goal under the Spaniard's reign in the 4th minute before Robert Da.. ah fine, Robbie Keane finally scores his FIRST friggin' goal for the club. A beautiful cross from Torres which he managed to divert towards goal with his ankle. Took him quite a while to get it going but it's all good now.
The cherry on top of the icing? Steven Gerrard's 100th goal for the club. Beautifully taken free kick through the hole in the wall which Lucas made. Sweet. But in his usual fashion, the feller wasn't singing much praises for himself during the post-match interview. Drop the whole hands-behind-the-back pose already. You make us all feel so unprofessional.
Unfortunately, the team conceded a goal (to Carra's EXTREMELY obvious annoyance) and Atletico Madrid's still on top of the group by goal difference. No matter though, I like Atletico. And the man with the goalsaving ass has broken another milestone by breaking into the top 10 list of players with most appearances for the club. Go Carra!
PS: Lucas might wanna take a trip past somewhere over the rainbow (aka somewhere that is not Kansas apparently, says Judy Garland) to retrieve some courage from the Wizard of Oz. C'mon dude, you're almost there!
