Back to work in Chimera from 9-5. I am almost done with the list of tasks. The problem is- I don't really know how to execute them so fingers crossed that I got them right.
Dad's birthday tomorrow. What should I get him? Hmm.
PS: Rafa hasn't lost the plot, he's just at loss for words. I use weirder words in Chinese.
No one should even bother him for a penance, just spare us the sight of another 2 points dropped. PLEASE.
As a personal protest and health measure, I shall go back to sleep whenever I see Lucas on the field if we are holding on to a very slender lead past 3am.
Just a WIP preview of what I've been up to lately.
I thought I was done with it yesterday but since the simplicity (to the extent of pretty easy) of digital painting opened the doors to so much more.. I decided to hold it back and try harder to fix it.
Btw, this is my 2nd digital painting since Kuijt v2 and definitely my first attempt at a more realistic piece. Wah pressure.
Damnit Nando. Some of us should have remembered that you have a habit of coming up with the goods even in silence. Probably the slickest assist I've ever seen O_O
Liverpool 1-1 Everton
It's just the harder road. Those idiots parked the damned bus in front of the goal mouth and came out with a draw. Brilliance on their behalf but shite to my eyes. COME ON YOU REDS!!!
Not that Liverpool's known for CNY victories anyway.
See Ducky borrowed one of my romance novels and then she was prolly high on milo or something and THIS happened:
ducky: its on a sat. (jogathon day) if kerja i wouldn't go ler...haha, playing hooky tsk tsk tsk.
ru says: i read hooker. hmm alritee. its gonna stink. i know. plaaah.
ducky: haha, you've been reading too many romance novels. and yesh, it will stink, which is guy we will go only for awhile then we watch a movie or something...want?
ru says: GUY. dear ducky, go breathe lol.....i never read the word hooker in any romance novels
ducky: omg, that was totally unintentional.
ru says: more like.. mistress and what? brothels? madames? AHAHAHA
ducky: HAHAHA! My subconscious is trying to tell me something lol.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out how big a chance Everton has in scoring from that bloody free kick. Especially if a mistake is made in letting Cahill roam free like THAT! What the fuck is WRONG with you Skrtel?!!!
Fans are disappointed. Definitely. Have a great time mending our hearts. I am sure the whole team is to blame for the past 2 weeks' performances. The gap was self-inflicted. A possible 5 points away from Utd now.
Not that anyone expected an easy title chase but to drop 2 points at home (in such a manner) during an ocassion like this? Cari pasal.
PS: Lucas is still shite.
The hair too.
Argh damnit.
Need to drop my brothers off at school in an hours' time, be late for work- and probably screw things up unintentionally. They were very reasons why I only dared to catch the 2nd half of the game. AND I AM GODDAMNED DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!
Yes, you million pounds earners better beware of the wrath from scorned Asian fans who wakes up at 4.30 to catch a match before going to work 2 hours later with a broken heart.
Stupid. <- the first word that came out of my mouth this morning.
Anyway, I'd forgotten to blog about something important... SO MONUMENTAL, SO STUPENDOUS, SO SO SO PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
I hung out with Bug and Nami yesterday.
There's no hug like a bug's hug! <3 Caught up over a waffle and hot chocolate with marshmallows. Discussed some pretty pointless stuff like Simon Wood's performance in Penelope and the lack of chivalry from Prince Charming in Snow White. Le sigh. Bug also thinks that I look quite scary and that scares the guys away. -__-' Like... huh?
All the day lacked was a certain animal which quacks :P
I like the office. Not the biggest of spaces but it is quite well-partitioned so the cubicles aren't THAT bad. *coughSimcough* In fact, my working space is pretty big! I actually have a desk with a computer on it. It's attached to a MacPro so it's pretty darn cool. (Oh and I had to google up the Mac Pro for confirmation cause I thought the damned thing looked pretty familiar) No stationery just yet because I really don't know what I need. I got my own pens and pencils anyway.
Fiddled with computer while waiting for something to happen. In approx 3 minutes time I had managed to readjust everything from the speed of the mouse (and change the mouse itself), the icons on the docks, the brightness of the display, the additional widgets on the dashboard, the mouse shortcuts, the wallpaper of the screen to the installation of the Windows Live Messenger.
Didn't do much really. Spent quite some time doodling. I guess my duty is to observe the way the designers work? (Duh.) Trimmed some printouts, mounted some work, traced a logo, observed a presentation in progess and then attempted to sort out a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE collection of typefaces (which left me going.. wow.) Apparently, I can spend my time surfing the net while helping out at the office. Cool. Connection's freaking great there by the way. There's also a large collection of books on design so I guess it'd be like working at Kinokuniya everyday? Browsed through a couple of interesting ones to kill time.
Unfortunately, my body's aching like shit and I've got this one bruise under my left kneecap in the shape of a "Y". The most painful bruise I've gotten so far and sitting for long hours only made me feel worse.
As for lunch, I had broken my strict policy of NOT eating at Devi's Corner for the rest of my life. Desperation calls for desperate measures. Kaki sakit. Walked back up to the office after lunch to discover that there are actually TWO different exits. Walked up and down both stairwells a couple of times cause someone must have forgotten to tell me about the doors' combination. Only when I recognised a colleague did I manage to ask for it and gain access to my comfy swivel chair. So much for saving on the walking.
Biggest surprise of the day? Spotting a hole in a painting that's probably worth 50 months of my internship allowance. :X
I will be ranting based on a fan's point of view. I could be wrong since I don't really play football but I believe that the world has ample space for more sources to select views from.
I felt bad for Lucas. I've been so disappointed in him but just when I thought he was not good enough for the team, he started showing some sort of improvement in his next two games. Unfortunately, taking most of his past performances into consideration- this game against Stoke would be the final straw. It was TERRIBLE.
If Pennant wasn't good enough to own the number he wore, I don't know what could be said for the young Brazilian.
He isn't a bad player but he obviously hasn't got the physical strength nor the pace to compete against Premier League teams. Maybe he's one of those players who develop late but there's no way he should be playing at this level right now. He can hardly win balls be it on air or ground. On field, this boy could single-handedly demolish all the effort that he and the team made to reach the top of the table. Harsh and probably written due to the spur of the moment but everyone else seems to have done their part of the job!!! Heck, we're talking about a player that will be replacing or playing alongside the likes of Gerrard, Mascherano and Alonso!
A little flashback here. All the way back to the Barry saga. Rafa wanted Gareth Barry. But our no-way-in-hell-they-will-understand-the-importance-of-football (I mean, be realistic, those two idiots don't even like each other, do u really expect them to sit down and full-heartedly talk about the future of the club and how it can be improved?) owners never got the fans' trust, led us into a mess filled with empty promises, a hell lot of rumors and much more debt. I won't say that we had insufficient funds from the yanks but it seems to me that the SLIGHT improvement was not enough. If something isn't good enough, there's always a possibility that things could go wrong when we're halfway through.
Maybe Rick Parry could have done a better job. It's baffling to know that of all the investors in the world, those two Americans are at the top of the list.
The little improvement means that the club is still stuck in the same rut of having the luxury to spend during the windows but in the same old fashion of splurging on one big player, selling some to get another, and then getting a couple of second-rated ones to fill in the blanks. There's nothing really wrong with that formula really..... if you were managing in the league a decade ago!
So let's say... if Rafa did get Barry and somehow managed to keep Alonso, Lucas would probably not be caught up in this mess. Not that I am implying that Barry would be a guaranteed success but heck, the bottom line was that Rafa did try to get another attacking midfielder as cover.
Poor Lucas.
Make up your own conclusions. I don't know which way am I pointing anymore.
I think Rafa's recent "facts" about Fergie could be taken seriously... as weird as he may have looked during the press conference. Traditionally, one would usually expect an angered manager to tactlessly counter an accusation within 3.5 seconds of its release, but here we have a man armed with a sheet of A4 sized paper, clearly well prepared to defend his team!
After browsing through many comments from multiple websites posting on the same article, you'd realise that only ONE point was capitalised on by the Utd supporters - that LFC didn't make any complaints about their games schedule. So that's what... 1 boo-boo in an otherwise, pretty long and well-detailed list of facts?
Guillem is right. Ferguson better watch out, there IS a world outside the Premier league. A world which stores a 9-times European champion, more than half of the Euro'08 champions and of course, the tango. LOL.
You know, I am starting to think that there's a silver lining to the much frowned upon incident regarding the postponed Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie.
I mean, look! The new trailer is SO MUCH better.
The old one was trying too hard. Rubbish in the eyes of a fan. We KNOW what happened and that trailer was not going to get you any interest from non HP fans anyway.
Didn't see Shasha, didn't get my explanation and didn't get my cupcake.
Hmph.
After four phone calls and 1.5 hours of pure boredom at PJCAD, I left for home to pick up my cellphone so I could inform Pat that I am on the way to Jasmine Towers. Filled to the rim with annoyance, I cursed and honked every single aunty driver who didn't signal before cutting into my lane before picking her up. Went to that taiwanese noodle shop in SS2 for lunch before heading to Damansara Uptown for my interview with Juan. I find it amazing that one woman can handle THAT many projects in such a small office. A good example for the term "Superwoman". Go Juan!
Pat and I windowshopped a little around the area because it rained. Left for One Utama since I didn't feel like lazing around at home and she didn't mind going out.
Since we're both of the same height and same shoe size, one must feel much pity for the shop assistant who had to fetch our shoes. We'd order 2 different colors of a shoe, in 2 to 3 different sizes, take turns to try them on and then end up wanting the same damned pair! Haha.
Got my first decent pair of sneakers and a pair of slipper+sandal thingy.
And dayum, Gayron came outta the crash unscathed. Nah I did not wish him any ill fate.. I was only hoping for a burnt eyebrow or something.
Wow, I've managed to sell what? 72 badges in 2 days just by posting Pat's pinupbadges' promotion ad on MSN. LOL. Can sell wei! We do that for Bulu-bulu yeah Sha?
So Ducky gave me a call while I was sleeping. I think she has the rights to know that THAT was the first ever phone call made during my napping hours which I can still recall clearly in my mind! Like bloody hell, she fell off a scooter and I was like O_O okay I am 50% awake now. LOL.
Anyway, I am starting to think that Mr. Teh is right. Well then again, anyone will be emotional if they bleed 7 days a week right, Nami?
Gah I need a serious dose of sugar. I wanna treat myself to a cupcake since no one buys me any. Flowers are so unromantic. They die too fast. *HINT*
Gonna meet up with Pat and Shasha tomorrow. Need to get some documents sorted out at PJCAD, probably demand for an explanation for a failed transaction at CIMB then off to Cleanpapercut's studio.
There was no point compromising was there? Maybe I shoulda pulled a Simon Cowell. When someone's on the ground, kick the person and make sure he/she is dead.
Another night spent swing dancing and gosh, it's getting so addictive! Tzup's improving a lot and Ducky seems to be having lots of fun. We did the 6 counts/East Coast okay I am horrible at remembering terms... which was pretty easy compared to the Charleston. On the way back to Ducky's, we saw a couple of mates at the court. I attempted to kick WK in the head before I realised that it's been a couple of years since I last tried and he's grown beyond reach. Le sigh.
Mum's got herself an iPhone from Macau for 300 bucks. What, you say? It even comes with a keypad and stylus. LIKE, WOOOAH!! Damn these Chinese people, they really know how to con em aunties. Haha. And Shaaaaa, she also bought me 4 pairs of leggings. RM7 each. MWAHAHAHA!
ps to those doinks out there: Your loss, not mine.
Struggled to roll out of bed this morning. It was already 10.30 when I arrived at SMASH but I was sooo hungry, I drove to get two paus for breakfast. Practised the charleston before starting dance class. Halfway through the stretching routine, the front of my left foot just seized up.. !@£$%. Had to keep it flexed for quite some time. Apparently, I need salt. Hmmm.
Argh anyways, served as a guinea pig for Sze who tried to figure out an escape route from one of the charleston moves. Quite fun really, she then combined a bit of swing basics and rock'n'roll with it. Hehe! I now know a liiiiittle more.
We then watched ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM - a contemporary dance performance at KLPAC. Very good production. The dancers were great and the choreography quite excellent if you aren't the kind who scrutinises everything.
Oh yeah, if your chinese is pretty whacked, don't try too hard to understand the narration. You'd just lose focus and not be able to interpret the dance in your own way.
I had a blast at the swing dance workshop with Ducky, Tzup and WJ. Sze was there too! As quoted by Tasha, Ed and Chengos were so "sickeningly sweet", it was extremely enjoyable to watch them dance together!
I can kinda do the Charleston now, even though there are times when I feel like I am kicking a horse.
Gotta do it more often. I wanna learn the Lindy Hop already!!!!! More information at KL Swing.
Anyhoos... here comes my usual footie rant.
Preston 0-2 Liverpool
Boring.
Let's just sum it up this way:
Spaniards fielded: 3 Spaniards returned : 2 Spaniards lost : 1 Spaniards scored : 2
The last goal still gives me goose-bumps. (yes, according to my spellcheck, it IS spelt with a hyphen)
Well, at least the first day of 2009 is pretty good.
It is already the beginning of the second day and if I weren't so upset I wouldn't be up so late. It was raining outside and the pitter patter rain got me in the mood to watch The Notebook but someone must be having my DVD cause it's not in the folder!!! I had no other choice but to opt for the next smushy movie in line (which I don't watch often) - CASABLANCA. Le sigh.
The day started quite well with me, Ducky, her friends, Tzu Pei and Nami going to the Pavillion for a karaoke session. Try acting out the lyrics to "My Heart Will Go On". It's fun! We then chilled out at Amir's place by playing some pool (I learned that I can hit so much better with the shorter stick ) and Guitar Hero. Headed back to Ducky's for MORE Guitar Hero, yummylicious lasagna and Tasha's trademark grilled cheese sandwiches before taking a walk at the park. I scared the shits out of this caucasian woman in a not-so-gracious attempt to get off a moving scooter on a slope. Took my foot off the brakes so I had to dismount and stomp REAL hard on the ground. -__-' Sorry friendly lady.. and your baby.
While fooling around at the playground, I realised that I'd left my cellphone at Amir's house. Since this is my 5248241st time leaving my phone behind, I didn't panic that much and planned to get it back tomorrow instead. Hahaha. Fortunately, E (as called in ducky's blog) got it back for me. Pheeeew. Thanks a million!
Stayed for dinner at Ducky's after much consideration. Okay, not that much actually- the food is always good at 22A. ;)
